1. The service

Cerebros is a macOS application that helps you create slideshow content using AI. The app runs locally on your device and connects to Anthropic's Claude API using an API key that you provide.

We do not operate servers that process your content. Your projects, chats, slideshows, images and API key are stored locally on your machine.

2. Licenses and payment

Cerebros is offered as a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime license. Purchases, checkout, license key issuance and billing are handled by Polar (polar.sh), acting as our merchant of record. Polar's own terms apply to the payment transaction.

A license grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use Cerebros on devices you own. You may not resell, share or redistribute license keys.

Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and remain active until the end of the current billing period. Lifetime licenses are a one-time payment and include future updates to the app.

3. Your API key and third-party costs

Cerebros requires your own Anthropic API key. Usage costs charged by Anthropic are your responsibility and are entirely separate from your Cerebros license.

Your API key is stored locally on your device and is only transmitted to Anthropic's API endpoints to fulfil your requests.

4. Your content

You own everything you create with Cerebros. You are solely responsible for the content you generate, the images you select, and how you use exported material, including compliance with the terms of any platform you post to and any applicable intellectual property rights.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Cerebros to create content that is unlawful, deceptive, infringing or harmful, and not to attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with or circumvent the app's licensing.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Cerebros is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including outcomes on third-party platforms or costs incurred with third-party APIs.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Cerebros after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
